Dr. Miguel (Mickey) Quiñones

Dean and Professor of Management

Dr. Miguel (Mickey) Quiñones serves as the Dean and Professor of Management at the Robins School of Business. Since 2019, he has led the school’s ascent, securing a spot as one of the Top 10 Business Schools to Watch in 2024 by Poets&Quants for Undergrads

Under his leadership, the Robins School has launched transformative initiatives such as the Spider Business Hub that connects students with real-world projects across Richmond, and Endeavor RSB which fosters a vibrant learning community for first-year students. The introduction of the Master of Science in Management (MSM) in 2023 furthers the Robins School’s commitment to expanding opportunities for recent graduates in liberal arts and STEM. These and other initiatives have significantly enhanced student engagement and real-world learning experiences, positioning the Robins School as a leader in innovative business education.

Dean Quiñones is an internationally recognized expert and well-published author in the individual and organizational development aand the strategic management of human capital. He received a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Michigan State University. Prior to joining the Robins School, he served on the faculties of Southern Methodist University, the University of Arizona, and Rice University. He was also a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile, and a visiting professor at Singapore Management University as well as the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.  

An award-winning teacher, Dean Quiñones has worked with numerous organizations to design and deliver leadership programs that address critical business needs. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Dean Quiñones is dedicated to advancing a student-centered environment at the Robins School, where top teacher-scholar faculty inspire and prepare the next generation of leaders. As he looks to the future, he envisions an inclusive, innovative academic community at the Robins School, one that not only meets - but anticipates - the evolving challenges of a global economy.
