What is Q-camp?
Q-camp is a two-day business boot camp designed to introduce undergraduate students to practical, real-world exercises in professional and career skills.
Held each January at a nearby hotel, the selected group of sophomore business students experience first-hand the social and professional interactions they will face as they enter the 21st-century workforce.
Q-camp is packed full of highly interactive seminars as well as opportunities to practice newly introduced skills with alumni, corporate friends, and faculty.

When is Q-camp?
Q-camp will begin Friday, January 27, 2023, at 2 p.m.; students will return to campus on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 4 p.m. All students will be provided transportation to/from the Westin Richmond Hotel.

Who is eligible to attend Q-camp?
Sophomore students who are pre-business, entrepreneurship minors, A&S Econ, A&S Math Econ, along with junior fall business transfer students, are eligible to participate in Q-camp.

What does it cost to attend Q-camp?
Transportation, lodging, and meals are provided. However, as part of the Q-camp experience, and upon check-in for your hotel room, you will be asked to provide a credit card to pay for your incidentals throughout the weekend. This is standard procedure for hotel check-in. If you do not have a credit card, no problem; however, you will not be able to put any incidentals on your hotel room bill.

When is Q-camp registration?
Registration opens November 20 at noon and will remain open until student capacity has been reached. Due to limited student capacity, early registration is strongly encouraged.

How do I register for Q-camp?
- On November 20, eligible students receive an email invitation to register for Q-camp.
- Interested students are asked to complete the Q-camp online registration form.
- A select number of invited students are then asked to complete and sign a statement of interest form.
- To complete Q-camp registration, return the statement of interest form to Erica Long, RSB room 129C. Please note students will be asked to complete and return the statement of interest form within one week.

When will students be notified about acceptance into Q-camp?
Students will be notified in early December.

If I can only attend part of Q-camp, am I still eligible to participate?
No. Students are required to attend the entire Q-camp program. However, should you have a class or interview conflict and cannot get it rescheduled, please contact Shelley Burns.

Is a resume required to attend Q-camp?
No, however in preparation for Q-camp, students are strongly encouraged to get their resume reviewed by the Office of Alumni and Career Services.

For the hotel room, can we request a roommate?
No.

Is there a dress code for Q-camp?
Yes, suggested dress is business casual for Friday; suggested dress for Saturday is coat/tie and ladies suits.

What should I bring to Q-camp?
Five hard copies of your resume, preferably one that has been reviewed by a career services advisor before Q-camp.

Lodging and meals
Notebook with agenda. Students will have the opportunity to download conference information on the Q-camp website conference platform, Accelevents.

If I cancel my reservation, whom should I contact?
Should your plans change and you need to opt-out of your room reservation and the conference, please notify Shelley Burns ASAP. Students who either cancel within 48 hours or no show for their Q-camp mock interview will be asked to personally meet with the Q-camp Conference Director, Shelley Burns.
