Chief Executive Officer, Johnston-Willis Hospital

Beth Matish serves as the Chief Executive Officer of HCA Virginia's Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare's Capital Division in Richmond, Virginia. Beth most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Retreat Doctors’ Hospital. Prior to serving in this role, Beth was the Chief
Operating Officer at Parham Doctors’ Hospital.

Under Beth’s leadership, Johnston Willis hospital has expanded its comprehensive neurosciences program that includes a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation, innovative Focused Ultrasound offerings, and treatment for all diseases and disorders of the brain. Johnston-Willis’s cancer center was awarded Sarah Cannon’s Signature Program Designation for its neuro-oncology program. Beth has successfully developed and grown specialized surgical services like spine surgery, bariatrics, and urology. In addition, Beth oversaw the introduction of inpatient behavioral health services to Parham Doctors’ and Retreat Doctors’ Hospital during her tenure at those facilities.

Beth joined the Henrico Doctors’ Hospital team in 2002 as an Associate Administrator. She served in this role until being promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Parham Doctors' Hospital. Beth began her career with HCA Healthcare as a Summer Associate at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN in 2001.

Beth received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia. She also received a Master’s in Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
