Professor Chairs the CEMA 2025 Scientific Committee

Michel Robe, professor of finance, chaired the CEMA 2025 Scientific Committee held at the Rice School of Business. Robe developed the conference's academic program and presented research on risk premia in agriculture futures markets. Other faculty presentations included Deniz Besik, Nancy Tran, and Art Durnev.

Ashley Austin Awarded Grant Funding for AI Research

Accounting professor Ashley Austin received a grant from accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers to support new research on the use of AI in audits. Austin and her partners at the University of Virginia and University of Georgia will develop strategies to help auditors examine AI-generated financial reports with sufficient skepticism.
