Experiential Learning

Learning by doing — with businesses, executives, and the community

During the first year of Endeavor RSB, students learn about business by engaging directly with businesses, executives, and the community. Experiential learning is built into the program through the BUAD 100: Applied Business Topics course and a range of co-curricular activities tied to the program theme, Business, Society, and AI.

Experiential learning in the program includes:

  • Site visits to local businesses in the greater Richmond area give students a firsthand look at the strategies and challenges of real organizations.
  • Hands-on engagement with generative AI tools in business and economic contexts, including discussions, demonstrations, and applied projects that explore both the opportunities and the societal implications of these technologies.
  • Conversations with national and international business leaders through the Robins Executive Speaker Series and other on-campus events.
  • Team competitions, including product pitches and consulting-style projects, ask students to balance human desirability, technical feasibility, and economic viability.
  • Professional development activities such as résumé and LinkedIn workshops, career exploration discussions, and applied Excel sessions.
