The Richmond MBA News & Notes

March 2016

MBA Community:

Randy Raggio

Last issue, I suggested that there’s more to life than numbers.  This issue, you will find that there’s more to business than just business.  In addition to providing an update on the state of the program, I share my thoughts about how we connect The Richmond MBA with the greater Richmond region – including business, civic and non-profit entities.  We help Richmond to flourish and prosper when we improve its organizations of all types by helping develop and connect the next wave of business and civic leaders.  Ed Trageser is part of that wave.  He chose for his Capstone Project to apply his MBA skills to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Team in Training”.  As he notes, “many MBA students will go on to serve as board members of charities and foundations. They will need to call upon their multi-disciplinary perspective to understand and serve those organizations well.” Jordan Freking is also part of that wave.  She shares her suggestions for balancing the MBA program with work and life – including getting married and a new puppy.  Every Spider MBA is making a positive contribution toward helping Richmond flourish.  I hope you will enjoy these examples.
