Bobby Ukrop is Chairman and C.E.O. of Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, a producer of premium-quality, chilled prepared foods and baked goods for food retailers in Virginia and adjacent states.  He serves as Co-Chair of Ukrop’s Threads which provides uniforms and corporate apparel to large food retailers, theme parks, and convenience stores across the nation.

Bobby began his business career in 1962 as a part-time courtesy clerk at Ukrop’s Super Market while attending George Wythe High School.  A 1969 graduate of the University of Richmond (where he played both varsity basketball and golf) and a 1972 graduate of the Darden School at the University of Virginia, he had a 40-year career at Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. the last twelve as CEO.  

Bobby is actively involved in the community as a co-founder and board member of the Richmond Sports Backers; serves as chair of SwimRVA; serves on the boards of the Collegiate School, Greater Richmond Partnership, VCU Business School Foundation, Lansing Building Products; and he is on the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army.  He previously chaired the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Merchants Association.  He recently concluded 18 years of service on the board of The First Tee of Greater Richmond and six years with the Greater Richmond Fit4Kids Foundation.  He served on the University of Richmond Board of Trustees for 20 years. 

Bobby enjoys golf and swimming.  He has taught a fifth grade Sunday School class for 35 years, including the last ten at Second Baptist Church. He has been married to his wife Jayne since 1969. They have four adult children and eleven grandchildren.
