Thank you for your interest in the Management Department at the Robins School of Business. The Management Department is one of the most interdisciplinary departments at the University of Richmond, teaching courses in Entrepreneurship, Ethics, Information Systems, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior and Strategy. Together, these courses address the knowledge for students to:
- Identify business opportunities and build/grow a firm to pursue the opportunities (Strategy and Entrepreneurship)
- Establish values for the firm, and provide leadership and decision-making to align the values and business opportunities (Organizational Behavior and Ethics)
- Coordinate processes and systems to build/grow a firm and achieve the opportunities (Operations Management and Information Systems)
Management courses also enable students understand the inter-related nature of functions and departments across the firm, including Accounting, Finance, HR and Marketing. Consistent with the Robins School of Business Learning Goals, the Management Department strives to help students build exceptional skills in four areas:
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Written and verbal communication
- Global business and diversity management
