Profile

Jonathan Whitaker is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Richmond. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Whitaker worked 10 years in consulting and professional services with A.T. Kearney and Price Waterhouse, including project work in North America, Europe and Asia. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America, DuPont, General Motors, NCR and Supervalu, global privately-held firms such as Cargill and Charoen Pokphand (Thailand), and public sector organizations such as the U.S. Census Bureau and City of Richmond. He has conducted academic projects at Capital One, CarMax, Electrolux, Federal Reserve Bank, Hamilton Beach, Hospital Corporation of America, MeadWestvaco, Owens & Minor, and Volvo. Dr. Whitaker earned a PhD from the University of Michigan, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA from the University of Southern California. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His research has been published in leading academic journals and profiled in the Wall Street Journal and MIT Sloan Management Review.
