Profile

Walk has served as chair of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies Information Systems program since 1997. She is a member of the University’s Cross School Curricular Oversight Committee and served as its chair for the 2012-2013 academic year. She is also a member of the School’s Academic Council and Admissions Committee.

Current research interests:

  • Business Process Analysis and Design: Application of business process management techniques to enrollment management practices in higher education. Analysis of the persistence and time-to-degree of non-traditional working adult students, for process improvements in forecasting, budgets, recruiting, admissions, advising, course scheduling.
  • Pedagogical methods in Operations Management courses: Quantitative methods approach versus unified business process management approach using the theory of constraints. Use of experiential process analysis projects in production, service operations (like campus dining services, food bank, healthcare, and IT network operations) to help students to apply OM concepts and analytical methods.
  • Role of Information and Communication Technologies in Developing Economies
